The previous owner loved Hawaii and understood what I was looking for and this was passed on to the new owners. *smile* See it pays to be a good, regular customer.

Born in Sydney, Australia, schooled in the U.S. of A. Lived in Los Angeles for 19 years before crossing the "pond" and now am in London. For those of you in L.A., feel very VERY fortunate you have such a diverse Asian cuisine at your disposal...truly, places like the San Gabriel Valley, and out by Walnut/Diamond Bar, and down in Torrance and Westminster are one of a kind. Southern California is a MECCA of Asian food.

London, on the other hand, leaves much to be desired in that sense. "Chinese" food consists of generic Cantonese rice and noodle dishes, and dimsum. Japanese food is expensive, as is Korean, and they are just getting Vietnamese in. But think _stripped down_ menus. Generic. You won't get your stand-alone specialty ramen or noodle house here. You won't get soon dobu houses. Hawaiian plate lunches? 24-7 Hong Kong cafes? Forget it. They can't even get boba tea right here. I'm so bored of the Chinese food here but it's all they got, and wonder why no one bothers to get a bit more experimental. I am guessing the gwai lo can't hang...
